By the way, in case you're wondering, this is Alex Bakst, you might remember me from Colorado summer 200--2 was it?--Ben Normann was the one who gave me the link to your blog, very nice!
Culturally, I'm actually not too far away from where you are, although geographically it's a bit of a haul. That is to say, I'm in north Spain atm, in a 300k-city on the Atlantic coast called Santander, in Cantabria. (It's about an hour's drive northeast of Bilbao.)
