It Wasn't All About the Salmon

Lest people get the wrong idea from my 2 previous rants about salmon, Chiloé has a lot more going for it than just evil aquaculture. My time there was great, bordering on life-changingly amazing: I harvested potatoes, baked bread, saw sunrises/sets and rainbows, paddled rafts across rivers, checked out huge native forests, ate apples from abandoned orchards, rode in pickup trucks, played with puppies and goats and chickens and a cow, yada yada.

Now that I'm in noisy polluted Santiago, the charms of Chiloé seem many. In other words, if you get a chance to, go.
