Great Article on US Foreign Policy in Bolivia

A friend of a friend wrote this piece back in November. For those of you interested in the political situation here in Bolivia and the manipulative role US "democracy promotion" plays across the region, it's a must-read. Anyone ever heard of the Office of Transitional Initiatives? A USAID program founded in 1994 “to bridge the gap between relief and development and provide short-term political assistance to countries in crisis,” OTI has been dubbed by one analyst “the special forces of developmental assistance.” They work in Afghanistan, Liberia, and other failed or failing states to "promote democracy" and "strengthen democratic governance and institutions."
